The 4th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 is scheduled to take place between Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators at the National Stadium in Karachi, this Monday.

Qalandars started their season on a winning note against Peshawar Zalmi and find themselves placed in the points table. Gladiators on the other side were made to taste defeat by the current table-toppers Karachi Kings.

It was once the spearhead- Shaheen Afridi who led from the front with his economical spell, the 20-year old managed to pick three crucial wickets and conceded just 14 runs in his quota of 4 overs. The Peshawar side were bundled out for 140 runs and Qalandars in reply always looked well in touch and finished on the winning side by 4 wickets and 9 balls to spare. The top-scorer for the Qalandars was their experienced all-rounder Mohammed Hafeez, who scored a clinical 33 of 26 balls.

Gladiators on the other side found themselves struggling against the Karachi kings, who continued from where they finished the last season. Except for the Universe Boss- Chris Gayle no one else showed any form of intent and they could manage only 121 runs on the board. The Kings with the likes of Babar Azam, Sharjeel Khan, and Mohammad Nabi in their side were not going to lose the game from there.

Can the Qalandars register back-to-back win? Or will Gayle force help Gladiators register their first win of this season?

Weather Report

The conditions are well in favor of cricket as clear skies are expected throughout the course of the day. The temperature is expected to be hovering in the 26-23 degree Celsius and the humidity at the peak is likely to touch the 22 percent range.

Pitch

The pitch does look more in favor of the batsman but the bowlers too have been finding some assistance, especially the pacers. The average score batting first this season has been around the 150 mark and the team winning the toss should be looking to bowl first.

Team News

Shaheen Afridi did a splendid job with the ball and once again he will in the limelight. Salman Mirza too was among the wickets. The only replacement could be of the pacer Ahmed Daniyal with Haris Rauf. The pacer was on the expensive side conceding 41 runs in his 4 overs. The batsmen seemed to do a decent job in chasing down the score and for that reason, no changes are expected in the line-up apart from the pacer.

Quetta Gladiators do have a strong line-up but were not able to overcome the mighty Karachi Kings. Gayle did show a glimpse of his storm and will be hoping he can score big this time around. Qais Ahmad was very expensive in his spell, going for 43 runs in his 3 overs and he is likely to be replaced by Pakistani leggie- Zahid Mahmood. Which also will give them the opportunity of having Cameron Deport in place of Mohammad Nawaz.
