Now that the Indian Premier League has come to an end with the Mumbai Indians winning their 5th IPL title. The focus has now shifted to another T20 global league- Pakistan Super League 2020(PSL 2020). Yes, the tournament is all set to resume after the unfortunate Covid- 19 pandemic forced suspended all the sports all over the globe.
With the League stages already completed, we are now set for the thrilling play- offs which will begin with a double- header on 14th of November. The first match of double- header Saturday will feature the Multan Sultans vs Karachi Kings at the National Stadium in Karachi.
The teams have faced each other twice in this tournament as the league follows the double round robin format. The Multan Sultans lead the head to head 1-0. As the first first encounter went in the favor of Shan Masood and Co. The second encounter was abandoned due to the rain playing spoilsport.
Both the teams will come into the all- important Qualifier on the back of huge losses. The Multan side were thrashed by the Lahore Qalandars as they managed to chase down a score of 186 with 9 wickets in hand and ensured themselves a place in the play- offs.
While the Karachi Kings were made to taste defeat by the Quetta Gladiators. Karachi after winning the toss could manage only 150 runs on the board. The Gladiators' chase was led by the veteran Australian Shane Watson, who scored a spirited 66 of 34 balls to guide his team to victory.
The teams have had a long gap and which we know could do good as well bad for them. The players though have been in practice and the series against Zimbabwe would have definitely provided the players the much needed momentum.
Can the Multan Sultans cement their place as the first finalists? Or will it be the kings who conquer that spot?

The strip in Karachi is usually in a good one for the batsmen. Said that, the pitch does assist the bowlers by offering the pacers some movement in the initial stages of the innings. With the match scheduled to be played at noon, due will not be playing any role in this encounter.

Multan Sultans are struck by a huge blow as they will have to go into the all- important fixture without their key players- James Vince (England) and Mahmudullah (Bangladesh). The Bangladeshi all- rounder was recently tested positive for Covid- 19 and for that reason will not travel to play the league. Though, what would be a relief for the Multan side is the addition of hard- hitting English batsman Joe Denly.
On the other side Karachi Kings will have to go ahead without the services for their kiwis spearhead Mitchell McClenaghan, who was not able to travel down due to the strict isolation protocols followed by the Country. Proteas all- rounder Wayne Parnell has been signed up as his replacement.
