Nattakan Chantham blew the internet after her spectacular save in yesterday’s Women’s T20 Challenge final. The Trailblazers player is a Thai cricketer who was also a part of the Thailand Cricket team that participated in the 2017 Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier in February.

After her some dependable performances, she was also named in Thailand’s 2018 ICC Women’s World T20 Qualifier tournament. She made her debut in the month of June in 2018 followed by being named in November’s Women’s Global Development Squad in order to play against Women’s Big Bash League Clubs.

As more and more people have seen her perform, the Thai batswoman has only gone a step ahead of where she was in the past. The same thing happened as she was then picked in Thailand’s squad for the 2019 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Qualifier tournament that was held in Scotland. A year after she played the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia.

Chantham was Thailand’s highest run-scorer in the tournament, firing 103 runs in four games. This consistency allowed the batswoman to become a part of the Women’s T20 Challenge too, making her the first Thailand cricketer ever to play a professional T20 league.

In Trailblazers’ first game, she didn’t get to do much as her team-mate Sophie Ecclestone devastated the Velocity batting and then Deandra Dottin spent no time chasing the low total. She did not get to do much in the other games too but her spectacular dive at the boundary in the final of the tournament has gone viral.

Her somersault dive was widely appreciated and is still being appreciated everywhere in the world while her catch at point to dismiss Jemimah Rodriguez took the viewers by surprise too. Such is the potential of the 24-year-old and it seems, in the coming years she will be one of the leading faces for Thailand and also a popular one in the upcoming Women’s T20 Challenges.
