Mike Hesson, Director of Cricket of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) informed that the Proteas all-rounder Chris Morris will be unavailable for the game against the defending champions Mumbai Indians.
The reason for his absentee is a side strain that Morris is yet to recover from fully and this is one of the reasons why he is yet to feature in IPL 2020. RCB’s official Twitter handle was where the news broke out from first, where Hesson revealed.
He said, “The mood’s good, we have spent time reflecting our performance against KXIP, we do not accept that as our standard, we have been training with a purpose. Morris is progressing really well but he is unlikely to feature in the match against Mumbai. He is one guy who we would love to have back as he gives the side the right balance.”
RCB head coach Simon Katich also had his say on how Morris’ presence would’ve helped the team achieve more. Katich said, “We will look at things, when we first looked to pick our team at the start of the tournament, Chris Morris was a part of it, he balances our side and it has become a little more difficult to balance things at the moment.”
RCB went downhill as they lost to KXIP in a very disappointing fashion and the team looked very off from their rhythm. However, the team has potential like it has had in most of the IPLs but it is the balance that has always lacked.
