The Lanka Premier League 2020 got off to a wonderful start as the match between the Colombo Kings and Kandy Tuskers went down to the wire and it was only the super over that could separate the two teams. The LPL 2020 has more action coming up as the Saturday Double-header promises to keep us entertained. The first match of the double-header will take place at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium featuring Kandy Tuskers and Dambulla Viking.
Dambulla Viking led by Dasun Shanaka will be playing their first match of the LPL 2020. While Kandy Tuskers will be playing their second match of the season. The first match seemed well in favor of the Tuskers after putting up a mammoth score of 219 on the board. But the batsmen of Colombo Kings were not in a mood to give up as they came out all guns blazing.
With 20 runs required off the last over, Isuru Udana almost sealed the game for the Colombo Kings. But his wicket meant that the match was taken to a super- over and this around the Kings made sure the game was sealed in their favor.
Can Colombo Kings register back to back wins? Or will the Dambulla Viking start their campaign with a win?

Though Friday is expected to experience slight showers in the late noon, Saturday seems to be a Sunny day and conditions are likely to be in favor of Cricket. The temperatures are a bit on the higher side as it expected to hover in the 29- 30 degree range. The humidity too is on the higher side- expected to reach the 74% percent mark at peak.
Pitch
The pitch as we saw in the opening game, is a belter. The bowlers had absolutely nothing and the hard and flat strip was a blessing for the batsmen. The ball was seen coming onto the bat really well and the same can be expected again. Dew did not play a vital role and with this much being played in the afternoon, the dew factor is out of the equation.
We saw even a score of 219 be tied by the chasing team. Said that the team batting first can fancy their chances of winning if scoring above the 185 mark.

Kandy Tuskers looked very well balanced and almost had their first win if not for the late hammering from the bat of Isuru Udana. Though the Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan was seen limping his way back to the dressing room and he was not back on the field. Which could mean that the proteas spearhead Dale Steyn could replace Pathan for this encounter.
On the other side, Dambulla Viking has not reported any injuries but will be without the services of key players like David Miller, Carlos Brathwaite, Lendl Simmons, and Kamran Akmal. They do have a good line-up and will be hoping they find the right balance going into the game.
