The 14th match of the Indian Premier League is set to feature the second placed Kolkata Knight Riders and the bottom dwellers Mumbai Indians, who are yet to register a victory after two outings.

The clash is set to take place at the Maharashtra Cricket Association stadium and after two matches being played at this venue in this edition so far, it remains the only venue where the chasing teams have lost on both occasions. It definitely is batsman friendly but the track assists the spinner to a far extent and for that reason we might see the team winning the toss go against the tradition of chasing.

The Kolkata Knight Riders seem to be in great touch and they would be happy with the way Russell has contributed so far in this season. The second encounter too witnessed their bowler almost pull a miracle. The five times champions on the other hand have a lot of questions to answer.

Their top order has clicked, no doubt in that and they would also be excited by their find in Tilak Verma. However, they middle order has been very poor so far and add to that the misery of their bowlers who are finding it difficult to restrict the opponents. Once again the same mistake as CSK we feel, both the teams have a very mediocre spin attack which is evidently letting them down.

Can Sheyas Iyer continue to lead his troops to glory? Or will Rohit Sharma bring in all his experience and take the bold decision make some drastic changes in the playing Xl to bring about the momentum they are looking for?

Team News

KKR have been notching up some pretty decent wins and there seems no reason to fiddle with the current combination. The Australian all-rounder Pat Cummins is still unavailable and that does mean that Tim Southee can continue to impress.

The Mumbai Indians on the other hand will be desperate for a win. Anmolpreet Singh and Tim David have failed to make any impact in the first two games and they are likely to be replaced by Rahul Buddhi and Dewald Brevis respectively. Both the players will be making their IPL debut. The unavailability of their key finisher  Suryakumar Yadav continues and Mumbai will be hoping he recovers before it is not too late.

Probable playing Xl

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR): Ajinkya Rahane, Venkatesh Iyer, Shreyas Iyer (c), Nitish Rana, Sam Billings (wk), Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Tim Southee, Shivam Mavi, Umesh Yadav, Varun Chakaravarthy

Mumbai Indians (MI): Rohit Sharma (c), Ishan Kishan (wk), Anmolpreet Singh/Rahul Buddhi, Tilak Varma, Kieron Pollard, Tim David/Dewald Brewis, Daniel Sams, Murugan Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, Tymal Mills, Basil Thampi

Must-Picks

MI opener Ishan Kishan has been in a peach of form and with 135 runs under his belt, he is placed 2nd in the list of highest run-getters in the current edition. MI's new addition Tilak Verma has been a gem of a find and he is also expected to bolster the fantasy line-up.

KKR all-rounder Andre Russell and current purple cap holder Umesh Yadav are our two other must picks for this intriguing contest.

Prediction

Mumbai Indians are yet to get off the mark and they would be desperate to get the two points to kick off the proceedings. Kolkata Knight Riders have been in good touch, although they have won two matches of the three, the wins have not come easy.

Once again the toss will play a vital role and a lot will depend on how the MI bowlers perform. We feel both the sides are almost in balance but the fact that MI has a better and stable  batting unit does give them the edge in this encounter.
