The second week of the second phase of the Indian Premier League was also an enthralling one as we saw so many moments that were small yet big enough to turn the course of the game.

Today, we at Cricwizz present you with the best moments from the second week of the IPL 2021 second phase.

1) Tripathy Trouble

It was the 45th match of the tournament and Kolkata Knight Riders were playing Punjab Kings at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai.

Kolkata batted first and put a target of 166 for the Kings. Venkatesh Iyer scored 67, Rahul Tripathi scored 37, while Nitish Rana scored 31.

Arshdeep Singh picked three wickets. KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal started brilliantly, building a 70-run partnership until Mayank Agarwal was dismissed. KL Rahul held his end while wickets kept tumbling from the other end. However, what can count as the first moment of this list is when KL Rahul's catch in the 19th over that was not deemed as a clean catch despite the visuals depicting otherwise.

KL Rahul went on to score a boundary off the last ball of that over and got out in the final over. Another moment that was in contention was a dropped catch by Tripathi again, but this time we're certain it was a dropped one and Punjab won the match.

2) Rocking Ruturaj

On the very next day, Ruturaj Gaikwad played the innings of his life, scoring his maiden IPL century, breaking some records, and also coming on top of the IPL run-getters list.

However, the moment that highlights that innings was not just his classical strokes but his 108m six on the last ball of the Chennai batting, a six that also completed his ton.

Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 101* off just 60 balls and played one of the most entertaining innings of his life. Hopefully, we'll have more to come!

3) Bang on Bangalore

Royal Challengers Bangalore were up against Punjab Kings and the game was played at Sharjah, a ground usually known to help the batsmen but this season, we witnessed a string of low scores at the ground.

Bangalore did a decent job batting first, putting up 164 on the board. However, the way Devdutt Padikkal and Maxwell were going, Punjab would've felt that they did a great job stopping this dangerous batting lineup.

Punjab had the best possible start as they were 91 for no loss in the 11th over but that's where the story changed its course. KL Rahul was dismissed on the final ball of the 11th over, followed by Nicholas Pooran, who was dismissed in the 13th over.

Things went from bad to worse as the 16th over, saw Mayank Agarwal and Sarfaraz Khan losing their wickets on consecutive deliveries. Agarwal was well-set and batting on 57, his wicket was not only one of the moments of the week but also a moment that turned the tide towards Kohli and co.

Wickets kept tumbling and Punjab lost the match by 6 runs.

4) D and D (Delhi and Dhoni)

Well, 4th October was not just about the top two teams in the table going head-to-head, it was also about which teams showed that they are ready for this season's crown.

Delhi beat Chennai and proved themselves as serious contenders for the trophy this season but what they also achieved was something that IPL never witnessed before.

Delhi Capitals became the first team to beat Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians twice in the same season. However, the moment of the week contender happened post-match, when MS Dhoni revealed a very important message regarding his future in the IPL.

When it comes to farewell, you can still come and see me play for CSK and that can be my farewell game. So, you will still get that opportunity to bid me farewell. Hopefully, we will come to see Chennai and play my last game over there and we can meet fans there."
