The ongoing series continues with the 2nd One-Day International between India and the West Indies. The second One-Day International between India and the Men in maroon will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on February 9, Wednesday.

After missing the South Africa tour due to injury, Rohit Sharma made a strong comeback. In the first ODI against the West Indies, the 34-year-old took leadership of the Indian team for the first time as the country's full-time white-ball captain. He not only impressed with his tactical genius but also starred with the bat as the hosts cruised to a 177-run victory. The Indian captain took the onus of the game, scoring 60 runs off just 51 balls.

West Indies were thrashed by a spirited Indian side in the first ODI, and are now struggling to stay in the series. In the first ODI, the Caribbean willow wielders made a poor showing with the bat. As the Indian bowlers stamped their authority on the match as the top order failed to apply itself. Only Jason Holder's brave half-century gave the total something to play for with the side being bowled out in 43.5 overs.

Can Rohit Sharma and co assert their dominance and claim the series? Or will the Caribbean side learn from their mistakes and present themselves as a stronger force to be reckoned with?

Team News

The only likely change to happen is for KL Rahul to replace Ishan Kishan. The management will be satisfied with the performances of the other players in the team and will be keen to see the performance of Washington Sundar and Yuzvendra Chahal performing in tandem again.

Some serious questions need to be asked in the West Indian camps failing to bat all 50 overs. The Kieron Pollard-led side will vary the dangers the track possesses and bat more cautiously this time around, giving a second chance for all the players involved.

Probable Playing XI

India (IND): Rohit Sharma (C), KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (WK), Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal, Prasidh Krishna

West Indies (WI): Brandon King, Shai Hope (WK), Darren Bravo, Shamarh Brooks, Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard (C), Jason Holder, Fabian Allen, Alzarri Joseph, Akeal Hosein, Kemar Roach

Must-Picks

Rohit Sharma was in good touch making his return and once again will look to score runs from the front. Yuzvendra Chahal in particular was in a destructive mood with the pitch suiting his bowling.

Jason Holder continues to show his excellent all-around abilities as an able performer with the bat and ball.  West Indies all-rounder Akeal Hosein has been brewing for good ever since his debut and there is no doubt he will once again be on the charts.
