When we speak about one of the coolest personalities in the sphere of cricket, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is one of the few names that come to our mind. However, one of his former teammates, Gautam Gambhir, has recently said that it was not always that MSD used to keep calm on or off the field and there have been quite a few occasions when the former Indian skipper has lost his cool in front of his teammates.

Speaking on the show "Cricket Connected", the southpaw from Delhi recalled a couple of occasions where he witnessed Dhoni lose his temper. He said, "People say that they have never seen him (Dhoni) lose his cool, but I have on a couple of times. It was during the 2007 World Cup and in other World cups, when we haven't done well."

Gambhir, however, defended his former colleague and captain and said, "He's human and he's bound to react as well. It's absolutely fair enough to do that. Even at CSK, if there is a misfield or if someone has dropped a catch..."

Gambhir also appreciated the fact that Dhoni has been a cool customer when it comes to captaining the side and he is definitely a lot cooler than Gambhir himself. The Delhi batsman said, "Yes, he is cool, he's probably much cooler than the rest of the other captains. Much cooler than me for sure!"

Another former Indian cricketer, Irfan Pathan, also testified the fact that "Captain Cool" has been seen to be losing his cool on a few occasions while training or on the pitch. The 35-year-old former Indian all-rounder said, "It was in 2006-07. During the warm-up, we had a game where the right-handed batsman would bat with the left-hand and vice-versa. After we finished the warm-up, we used to get into our practice.”

He added, "So, during the warm-ups, there were 2 teams. Once MS Dhoni was given out which he didn't think he was. He threw his bat and made a dash to the dressing room and came late for the practice. So, he does get angry."
