The Proteas skipper for the Test series, Dean Elgar has a huge take at hand. His responsibility is not just batting and managing the team but he'll also have to deal with a robust Indian side that has been brilliant on away tours in the past couple of years.

What do you think? Can Elgar take the Proteas through? Can they come out stronger against Virat Kohli and co.? We'll find out soon.

2) Aiden Markram

Another player that has been rising among the ranks is Markram. Markram has been an important South Africa player for more than a couple of years now.

Markram's batting is considered as one of the pillars of the Proteas batting and his performance against India in this series would be a very critical one. Markram has no weaknesses as such but it'll be interesting to see how he faces India's all-round bowling attack.

3) Rassie Van Der Dussen

Van Der Dussen is one of South Africa's very consistent performers in recent years. After the likes of Faf du Plessis, AB de Villiers left the limited-overs format, Dussen was and still is influential in helping the Proteas ship to avert sinking.

Despite some serious ongoing issues within the South Africa board, Dussen has been the ray of hope for all South Africa fans. It will be intriguing to see how the Indians tackle Dussen.

4) Temba Bavuma

The former Proteas skipper will be a vital middle-order batsman for South Africa. Dealing with India's bowling won't be easy as the Indian bowling attack looks too dominant as things stand.

Bavuma's composure at the crease is what the other African batsmen would need and Bavuma will have to ensure that the message is sent across well. Can Bavuma be the leading man for South Africa at home?

5) Kagiso Rabada

After multiple injuries in recent years, Rabada has a huge task at hand. This series is very important to him considering his form and rhythm, also to his self-esteem of performing against an in-form Indian batting.

Rabada's pace is what will help him at home but what he needs to know is that things won't be the same as they were when the last time the Indians visited South Africa.

This tour has a huge significance for the home side to prove their mettle in international cricket. The stakes are high and the fans from both sides would be expecting highly of their side.

How do you think South Africa would fare in this series? Let us know!
