The All India-Senior Selection Committee met via video conferencing to finalize India's squad for all three formats for the upcoming tour of Australia.
India's tour of Australia is expected to be a perfect end to 2020 for all the cricket fans around the world who have waited so long for the series to happen. Today was the day when several new names were added to the squads in different forms of the game. Let's have a look at them.
Team India T20I squad: Virat Kohli (Captain), KL Rahul (Wicket-Keeper & Vice-Captain), Mayank Agarwal, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Hardik Pandya, Sanju Samson (Wicketkeeper), Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Shami, Navdeep Saini, Deepak Chahar, Varun Chakravarthy.
Team India ODI squad: Virat Kohli (Captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul (vice-captain & wicket-keeper), Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Hardik Pandya, Mayank Agarwal, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Shami, Navdeep Saini, Shardul Thakur.
Team India Test squad: Virat Kohli (Captain), Mayank Agarwal, Prithvi Shaw, KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane (vice-captain), Hanuma Vihari, Shubman Gill, Wriddhiman Saha (wicket-keeper), Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Shami, Umesh Yadav, Navdeep Saini, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, R. Ashwin, Mohd. Siraj.
Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma are doubts for the tour but will be considered if fit, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been ruled out due to an injury. In the absence of Rohit, KL Rahul has been given the opportunity of vice-captain in the white-ball formats.
The committee has also decided to take along four additional bowlers, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Kartik Tyagi, T Natarajan, and Ishan Porel to travel with the main squads.IPL 2020 helped several youngsters to prove themselves at such an enormous stage. The series will be a huge test for the players and the committee to keep tabs on how well everyone does as expectations are soaring this time.
