Sunday’s entertainment will continue into the evening as we have the Adelaide Strikers take on the Sydney Sixers at the Carrara Oval in Queensland. The first match of the BBL Sunday doubleheader will feature the Perth Scorchers and bottom dwellers Melbourne Renegades.

Sixers will be taking the field in less than 24 hours and they will have very less time to get themselves ready after the thrashing they took from the Brisbane Heat. The loss for the Sixers means that they are now placed 3rd in the points and are only two points behind the toppers Sydney Thunder.

Adelaide Strikers on the other side find themselves in the tricky fourth spot. A win for the Strikers here with a bash point could see them level with the Sixers on the points basis. The last time the two teams met, the sixers had a comfortable 38 runs victory with their key player Daniel Christian bagging the Man of the Match award.

Both the teams will come into this match on the back of losses and it will now boil down to who holds their nerves. Can Strikers level with the Sixers? Or will Sixers climb to the top of the table?

Match Start Time: 18:15 Local (13:45 IST)

Match Venue: Carrara Oval, Queensland

Weather Report

The conditions are in favor of the sport but the 20 percent precipitation means that we may have drizzle but not threatening to interrupt play. The temperature is expected to be hovering in the 27-23 degree Celsius range and the humidity at the peak is likely to touch the 71 percent mark.

Pitch

The last match played in Carrara Oval was a high scoring thriller and the fact that Thunders managed to chase down 117 in 12 overs in the rain-curtailed encounter does mean that the venue despite the rainfall in the last few days is still in favor of the batsmen. Runs are once again expected to come by easy and the team winning the toss should be looking to chase.

Team News

A very uncharacteristic loss for the Strikers in their last game. They would not be looking to fiddle with the winning combination owing to one defeat. They are likely to play the same Xl that has been doing a wonderful job this season.

Sixers too took a beating at the hands of Heat. Said that, they have one of the strongest squads in the tournament and it could take some effort for the players on the bench to make the starting Xl. They would be looking to make a few changes in the batting line-up for this encounter.
