The 21st match of the Big Bash League 2020 is set to feature Adelaide Strikers and Perth Scorchers at the Adelaide Oval, this Thursday. The match will also mark the last recognized match of the pandemic hit 2020.

Strikers are just 3 points away from the table-toppers Sydney Sixers and they would be hoping they can finish the year on top of things. Scorchers on the other side find themselves languishing at the bottom of the table with 2 points from the 4 games played so far and their only consolation would be that they have played a game short. Scorchers are also the only team yet to win a game this season.

The previous encounter between the two sides was played at the same venue on Monday. The match was one-way traffic from ball one in the direction of Adelaide Strikers as they ended up on the winning side by a huge margin of 71 runs.

Can the Strikers climb to the top spot on New Year’s Eve? Can the Scorchers register their first win in the BBL 2020?

Team News

Strikers can be proud of the way they have been this season. Though they would be kicking themselves for losing the match against Hurricanes, they have put up some amazing performances this season. Both the departments have a well-balanced bowling line-up does a special mention merely for their ability to withhold many of the strongest batting attacks in the tournament. Strikers are likely to feature the same Xl that played the last game.

Scorchers on the other side have a lot of issues to address. They definitely can not continue their winless streak and will be looking for ways to register that important first win. Aaron Hardie was brought in to play the all-rounder’s role but has failed in both the departments on more than one occasion. For that reason, they would be looking to bring back Cameron Bancroft into the playing Xl, which could strengthen the struggling batting line-up of Scorchers.

The English opener- Jason Roy has not done much damage to the oppositions yet. Scorchers will be hoping he gets into the groove.
