After a barrage of doubleheaders, we will be back to the single match routine for the next couple of the days. The 33rd match of the Big Bash League 2020 (BBL 2020) will witness the Adelaide Strikers lock horns with Melbourne Renegades at the Adelaide Oval, this Friday.
The Strikers have been doing a decent job this season as they have managed to win 4 out of their 8 games and more importantly have bagged the bash point on five occasions. They also have commendable net run-rate and find themselves placed 4th in the points table.
Their opponents- Melbourne Renegades are experiencing a nightmare season and their chances of making it to the top four are now slim to none. After losing 7 of their 8 matches they find themselves languishing at the bottom of the table.
The teams will be locking horns in a space two days. The previous encounter saw the Adelaide Strikers make easy work of Aaron Finch and Co. The Strikers after winning the toss elected to bat first and did justice to their decision by scoring 171 on the board. The Renegades batting once again failed as they had the whole of this season so far and ended up on the losing side by 60 runs.
This encounter with a rather struggling Renegades does give the Strikers an opportunity to bag the crucial 4 points and in the process could find themselves at the 2nd place in the table. Can the Strikers make it back to back wins? Or will the Renegades surprise Alex Carey and Co.?

Weather Report
The conditions are well in favor of cricket as clear skies are expected throughout the course of the game. The temperature is expected to be hovering in the 28-22 degree Celsius range and the humidity is likely to touch the 33 percent mark at peak.
Pitch
The last match played at this venue was between these same sides and we did see the Adelaide score runs comfortably. The pitch is more in favor of the batsmen. Said that, it does offer movement for the pacers early in the innings. The toss is not expected to play a vital role in this encounter.
Team News
Adelaide Strikers have been doing everything right apart from the few unfortunate events that ended up against their likes. Ryan Gibson did step up and score a fluent 43, which potentially was a match-winning innings. Harry Conway who came in as a replacement for Daniel Worrall looks like he is all set to seal his spot. It could be safe to say the Strikers have found their best playing Xl.
It is that kind of a season when nothing is going in favor of Aaron Finch and Co. The form of the skipper too has been a real concern for them and apart from Shaun Marsh there has not been anyone contributing to the cause. Shaun Marsh is reported to be still recovering from his injury and that does mean Renegades will have to play without their ace player once again.
