After the thrilling weekend doubleheader. We will once again witness two thrillers on Monday set to feature Melbourne Stars and Hobart Hurricanes and Brisbane Heat and Sydney Thunder. The first match, between the Stars and Hurricanes will mark the 27th match of Big Bash League 2020 and is set to be played at the Gabba in Brisbane.
Stars after starting their season on a flying note have ever since been on the decline and now find themselves placed 5th in the points table. Hobart on the other side have only tasted defeat on two occasions so far and are comfortably placed in the 2nd position with 18 points and are only a point behind the table toppers.
The last encounter between the sides was played on Saturday at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart, the teams will lock horns once again in the space of two days. The last meeting saw the Hobart Hurricanes get the better for Stars by 21 runs. Though the Stars skipper-Maxwell played a gem of an innings, scoring 70, he could not get his side over the line.
Can the Stars seek redemption against Peter Handscomb and Co.? Will the Hurricanes climb their way to the top of the table?

Weather Report
The conditions are not ideal for cricket as there is a 20 percent chance for rain to interrupt the play. The temperature is expected to be hovering in the 27-23 degree celsius range and the humidity at the peak is expected to touch the 66 percent slab.
Pitch
As we saw in the last match between the two sides, the pitch seems to be a bit on the slower side as compared to the other ones used for BBL. The last match saw an aggregate of close to 350 runs and we can expect the same for this encounter as well. The team winning the toss should be looking to bat first, keeping in mind the rain and overcast conditions.
Team News
Stars seem to have to lost their plot after the flying start they had in the tournament. Apart from their skipper, no one seems to be delivering. The opening pair of Fletcher and Stoinis will have to step it up in order for the Stars to get back to winning ways. Rainbird had an expensive outing and for that reason we could see the experienced Nathan Coulter-Nile make it back to the line-up.
Hurricanes look in great shape and are one of the most well balanced sides in the tournament. Though they would be disappointed with with the way their key all-rounder D’Arcy Short has been going about his things, his reputation and the fact that his team is doing a wonderful job is likely to keep in the playing Xl.
