Sydney Sixers and Adelaide Strikers will clash in the 11th match of the 2020 Big Bash League (BBL 2020) at Hobart on Sunday. Both the teams have posted one win and one loss each in two games so far. But Sixers have placed a spot higher at 3rd with 5 points. Strikers are at 4th with 4 points.

Sixers began their tournament on a losing note, losing the BBL opener against Hobart Hurricanes by 16 runs. But they came back to thrash Melbourne Renegades by a huge margin of 145 runs to earn a bonus point. Josh Philippe was the standout batsman for Sixers, hitting 57-ball 95 to help the team post a huge total of 205/4 before bowling Renegades out for 60.

Strikers also began on a losing note, losing to Hurricanes by 11 runs, before coming back strongly to beat the Hurricanes in the return clash by 5 wickets. Peter Siddle was the standout performer of the match, bagging 5/16.

Sixers would start favorites in the Sunday clash as they are coming off a thumping victory against Renegades.

Match Start Time: 19:15 Local (13:45 IST)

Match Venue: Bellerive Oval, Hobart

Weather Report

The weather is expected to be mostly cloudy, with temperatures hovering around 9 degrees Celsius to 17 degrees Celsius. The good news is that there is no forecast of rain.

Pitch

Bellerive Oval, Hobart is good for batting, with three scores of 174 and above in five games in BBL 2020 so far. But team batting first has won three games out of five so far. However, the Sunday clash would be an evening one, and hence, due would be a factor. And hence, chasing would be easier on this pitch and conditions.

Team News

Sixers will be continued to be led by Daniel Hughes in place of Moises Henriques who is down with a hamstring injury. But the good news for them is that West Indian all-rounder Jason Holder would be available for the clash. Along with Carlos Brathwaite,  Daniel Christian, and Steven O’Keefe, the four form a formidable mix of all-rounders in the Sixers squad. And all the four all-rounders are likely to play in the Sunday clash. Josh Phillipe will be the player to watch out for after his superb innings of 95 against Renegades in the last match.

Strikers have a good mix of players, with Rashid Khan being the trump card once again. Captain Alex Carey led from the front, making a timely 55 in the win over Hurricanes. Siddle stood out in the match, with 5/16. But Strikers would need more meaningful contribution from their other local talent rather than rely on individual brilliance if they wish to pose a serious threat to other teams, and stay in the race for playoffs.

Possible Playing XI
