The 17th match of the Big Bash League 2020 is set to take place between the bottom dwellers Perth Scorchers and Adelaide Strikers at the Adelaide Oval, this Monday. This is the first match of the BBL 2020 that will take place at the Adelaide Oval.

Perth Scorchers find themselves languishing at the bottom of the table with 2 points from 3 games played so far. The Scorchers are yet to open their account this season and it is partly due to their poor batting show. The Strikers on the other hand find themselves in a better position, placed 5th with 9 points from the 4 games, and win here with a bash point could see them leap their way to the top of the table.

Scorchers will come into this match on the back of a huge 7-wicket defeat against the Sydney Thunder. The Strikers had a thrilling match against the Brisbane Heat, which went down till the very last ball and the Strikers managed to win the match by 2 runs at the end.

Can the Scorchers open their account after being on the receiving end on three occasions? Can Peter Siddle and Co. rocket their way to the top of the table?

Match Toss Time: 18:15 Local (13:15 IST)

Match Start Time: 18:45 Local (13:45 IST)

Match Venue: Adelaide Oval, Adelaide

Weather Report

The conditions are expected to be ideal for cricket as clear skies are expected throughout the day. The temperature is expected to hover in the 18-13 degree range during the course of the game and the humidity at the peak is likely to touch the 52 percent mark.

Pitch

The Adelaide pitch as we know is a batsmen-friendly one. The initial few overs with the new ball can prove to be challenging for the batsmen but once they play out the phase, thighs are expected to be much in favor of the batsmen. The team winning the toss should be looking to bat first and let the scoreboard pressure take care of the team chasing.

Team News

Scorchers will be feeling unfortunate as they have not yet able to open their account this season despite showcasing some brilliant performances. It has been the minute judgment errors that have been costing the Perth side and they would be hoping they can overcome their mistakes this time and finally get the valuable points on the board.

Adelaide Strikers on the other hand have been doing a decent job and have managed to claim the bash point on two occasions. They have a very well balanced playing Xl and they would not want to fiddle with the balance, considering the early phase in the tournament.
