The 37th match of the Big Bash League 2020 (BBL 2020) will take place between the resurgent Perth Scorchers and third-placed Hobart Hurricanes at the Perth Stadium, this Tuesday.

Perth Scorchers despite being on a four match winning streak find themselves in the fifth position owing to a poor start in the tournament. Said that, a win here would see them leap to the third position in the table. Hurricanes on the other hand find themselves in the 3rd position with two points more than their opponents.

The teams will be meeting each other for the first time this season. The Head to head though stands in favor of the Perth side. The Scorchers have managed to win 7 out of the 13 matches played, giving them a one-match advantage.

Perth Scorchers are on a four match winning streak. While, the Hurricanes have been on the receiving end in the last two outings. Peter Handscomb and Co. will be hoping they can get back to the winning ways.

Can Ashton Turner and Co. continue their unbeaten streak? Or will the Hurricanes be able to get back to the winning ways?

Weather Report

Conditions are expected to be in favor of cricket. The temperature is expected to be hovering in the 27-21 degree Celsius range and the humidity at the peak is likely to touch the 39 percent mark.

Pitch

The pitch in Perth as we saw in the last few matches as been in favor of the batsmen. The first few overs though has been good for the bowlers and given that the conditions are expected to be cloudy, the fast bowlers could have a very good time in the initial stages of the innings. The toss is not likely to play a crucial role in this encounter but the team bat batting first should be looking to score around the 170 mark.

Team News

Perth Scorchers would be committing a crime if they make any changes in the playing Xl unless and until it is a forced one. The team has been doing an exceptional job and their 4 match winning streak does back the claims. Jhye Richardson is currently the highest wicket-taker in the tournament and he will once again hold the key. The opening pair of Jason Roy and Liam Livingstone have not been able to deliver to the expectations but the middle-order has covered them well. They will have to step it up if the Scorchers are to keep the streak alive.

Hurricanes having been on the receiving end in their last two outings but it would be too early to press the panic button. With the spin already consisting of D’Arcy Short and Sandeep Lamichhane, Johan Botha is expected to be sidelined once again. Macalister Wright has been struggling to get going and that would clear the way for Mitchell Owen to make his debut.
