Perth Scorchers despite being on a four match winning streak find themselves in the fifth position owing to a poor start in the tournament. Said that, a win here would see them leap to the third position in the table. Hurricanes on the other hand find themselves in the 3rd position with two points more than their opponents.

The opening pair of Jason Roy and Liam Livingstone have not been able to deliver to the expectations but the middle-order has covered them well. They will have to step it up if the Scorchers are to keep the streak alive.
Hurricanes having been on the receiving end in their last two outings but it would be too early to press the panic button. With the spin already consisting of D’Arcy Short and Sandeep Lamichhane, Johan Botha is expected to be sidelined once again. Macalister Wright has been struggling to get going and that would clear the way for Mitchell Owen to make his debut.
