After three days of doubleheader fun in the BBL 2020 we are back to the single match routine. The 29th match of the Big Bash League 2020 is set to take place between the Melbourne Renegades and Adelaide Strikers at the Adelaide Oval on Tuesday.

Renegades find themselves languishing at the bottom of the table with just one win from the 7 games played  so far and things look very tough for Aaron Finch and Co. from here on to make it to the top four. Strikers on the other side are placed in the tricky 4th spot and win here is likely to cement their spot as they will have a considerable lead over the 5th placed Melbourne Stars.

The two teams will be meeting for the first time this season. The Strikers though have a handsome lead in the Head to head standings, the teams have played 12 matches between them and the Strikers lead the count by winning 8 of them.

Both the teams will come into this match on the back of losses. The Renegades were once bowled out for two digits, making it their third occasion this season. Strikers were made to taste defeat by the in-form Sydney Sixers who managed to chase down 150 runs with 7 wickets to spare.

Can the Renegades bounce back to winning ways? Though it does look tough from here, the caliber of players like Aaron Finch and Shaun Marsh should help the Renegades.

Weather Report

Conditions seem well in favor of cricket as clear skies are expected throughout the day. The temperature is expected to be hovering in the 21-17 degree celsius range and the humidity at the peak is likely to touch the 45 percent mark.

Pitch

The Adelaide pitch as we know is a batsmen-friendly one. The initial few overs with the new ball can prove to be challenging for the batsmen but once they play out the phase, things are expected to be much favor of the batsmen. The team winning the toss should be looking to bat first and let the scoreboard pressure take care of the team chasing.  Any target of more than 170 is likely to put the chasing team in a spot of bother.

Team News

Renegades do not seem to find anything going their favor this season. They do not have any injury concerns but the form of their key players have been of the concern. Their skipper Aaron Finch has not yet fired for them and much of the burden has been resting on the shoulders of Shaun Marsh.

The 16-year old Noor Ahmad has done no wrong this season but the fact that Imad Wasim is more experienced and he can provide the firepower in the middle-order, he could replace the teenager in the line-up.

Strikers do have a well balanced team but their concern would be the inconsistency of the players. Philip Salt has been on and off and that has not been helping their cause. Matt Renshaw who was expected to anchor the innings is yet to make a mark this season. Said that, they do have a winning team and they would not be looking to fiddle much with the combination unless the case is extreme.
