The entertainment does not stop with the much anticipated test match between Australia and India. We have the intriguing BBL doubleheader which promises to keep us at the edge of the seat. The first match of the Thursday doubleheader is set to feature Hobart Hurricanes and the Sydney Thunders at the Perth Stadium.

Hurricanes find themselves in a comfortable third place with 18 points, just 3 points behind the table toppers Sydney Sixers. Thunders though fare better in regards to the standings with one point more than the Hurricanes, Callum Ferguson and Co. find themselves at the second spot.

A win here for either of the teams is likely to make it to the top of the table.

Both the teams will come into this match on the back of losses. The Hurricanes were beaten by the Melbourne Stars by a narrow margin of 10 runs. The Thunders were made to taste defeat by the resurgent Brisbane Heat by 5 wickets.

The teams will be meeting each other for the first time this season. The teams have locked horns on 13 occasions so far and the Hurricanes hold a slight edge with 8 wins. Which one of them do you think will move to the top of the table?

Weather Report

The conditions are ideal for cricket as clear skies are expected throughout the day.The temperature is expected to be hovering in the 33- 27 degree celsius range and the humidity at the peak is likely to touch the 23 percent mark.

Pitch

We once again saw two contrasting batting efforts. This time it was the Perth Scorchers who dominated the Sixers and went on to win the match by 86 runs. The pitch is definitely good for batting but the batsmen have failed to wait it out. The extra bounce does trouble the batsman. The team winning the toss should be looking to bat first.

Team News

Hurricanes have been doing a good job this season, being on the receiving end only on three occasions. They do have a very good batting line-up. A rare off day against the Stars will not be enough to push the management to make changes in the combination.

Thunders were dealt a huge blow in the form of Daniel Sams, who was hit on the helmet. As per latest reports he is set to miss this match too and that leaves the Thunders middle-order and bowling a bit on the vulnerable side.
