The second match of the 3-match ODI series between the Australians and India is set to take place at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Sunday. The series stands in the favor of the Aussies after they managed to dominate the visitors in their backyard by defeating them by a significant margin of 66 runs.
Aaron Finch after winning the toss decided to bat first and with the Indian Bowlers struggling to pick up the wickets, the Aussies registered a humongous total of 374 runs. The spirited batting performance was led by their captain Aaron Finch, who scored a clinical 114 and was supported by his fellow opener David Warner and former skipper Steve Smith, who scored 69 and 105 respectively.
The Indians had a flying start to the chase as Mitchell Starc found it very hard to bowl in the radar and leaked away 20 runs in the first over which consisted of a number of wides. The Men in Blue looked well in the driver seat until the strike bowler Hazlewood and leggie Adam Zampa began to run through the Indian line-up.
It was then up to Dhawan and Hardik Pandya who put on a 128 run stand for the 5th wicket. But with the required rate climbing, the shots were on the cards, and the Indian team ended up on the losing side by 66 runs.
Can the Baggy Green make it back to back wins and seal the 3-match series? Or will Virat Kohli and Co. bounce back to level the series?

The conditions are once again in favor of the sport as clear skies are expected throughout the day with overcast conditions to take over around the end of the first innings. The temperatures are expected to be on the higher side, as it is expected to reach the 38-degree mark in the late noon. The humidity is expected to hover in the 30- 36 percent range.
The pitch in Sydney as seen in the previous game seems to be flat and has nothing for the bowlers. The pitch is expected to behave the same way for this encounter and for that reason the team winning the toss will look to bat first so as to put the scoreboard pressure on the chasing team. There is no assistance for the bowlers, and we can once again expect a high-scoring game at the SCG.
The Aussies were dealt with a huge blow as their all-rounder Marcus Stoinis left the field with a side injury. Few reports do say the 31-year old would not be available for the third ODI, though the official decision from the management is still awaited. The non-availability of the all-rounder would mean that Ashton Agar will make it to the playing Xl.
The Indians on the other side would be unhappy with the way Shreyas Iyer was dismissed and will be hoping the youngster bounces back. Given that the players did put up a fight and the players have just got used to the conditions after the long break, the management would be looking to feature the same playing Xl with the only change that could be seen is the replacement of Navdeep Saini with T. Natarajan as he could add more variety to the bowling.
