The much-awaited India’s tour of Australia started off with the 3-match ODI series which went in favor of the Aussies 2-1. The Aussies dominated the visitors in the first two matches of the ODI series and the Indians managed to bounce back in the 3rd ODI to win by 13 runs. The teams will now face-off in a 3-match T20I series, which is set to begin on Friday.

The Australians are set to lock horns with the World no.3 at the Manuka Oval in Canberra, the same venue as the 3rd ODI was played. Virat Kohli and Co. showed great promise in the last match of the ODI series and have attained the much-needed momentum going into the T20I series.

Australia will feel a bit disappointed with the barrage of injuries that have been taking place in their camp. They are forced to play the series without the services of their key batsman David Warner and the likely absence of all-rounder Marcus Stoinins, Mitchell Starc, and Pat Cummins only adds to their misery.

India will be feeling pumped up as they have a number of T20 specialists on their side and the format is something which the players thrive to perform given the number of matches the players in the IPL.

Will Virat Kohli and Co. be able to continue the winning momentum and start the T20I series with a win? Or will the Aussies despite their injury struck camp manage to pull it off?

Weather Report

The conditions are ideal for cricket as it is expected to be clear and sunny. The temperatures are expected to hover around the 25- 16 degree mark during the evening. The humidity is anticipated to reach the 29 percent mark at peak.

Pitch

The pitch in Canberra as we saw is in favor of the batsmen and is likely to remain that way for this encounter. Said that the occasional bounce will help the pacers but overall a high-scoring game is on the cards once again. The batting first has seen more success than chasing and the 3rd ODI did back that up. The team winning the toss should be looking to bat first and any score more than 190 is likely to be a match-winning total.

Team News

Australians have been dealt with huge blows as many of their key players have been struck with injury and seem to be unavailable for the T20I series. It was confirmed before the start of the 3rd ODI that their opener David Warner would not be part of the T20I series as he is suffering from a groin injury. To make things worse their lead bowlers Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc were also reported to be injured. There are no reports of the extent of injury of the pace duo and Australia will be hoping they recover soon.

Team India on the other side will be feeling boosted up after their thrilling win over the Aussies and will be excited with the way the debutant T. Natarajan bowled. With Shubman Gill not in the squad and KL Rahul likely to open the innings along with Dhawan. It looks like Mayank Agarwal will have to make way for Manish Pandey.
